How many kids do you have? two boys
What are their ages? almost 2 and almost 5 :)

Thank you for doing this interview and sharing your experiences.

Please tell us your background? Where you grew up?

I am the first born child of a radio deejay and a x-ray tech. I was born in St. Petersburg, Florida but spent most of my childhood in Alabama where my dad was on a local radio station morning show.

You have a blog at http://mommosttraveled.com What kind of info would you find on your blog? Why did you start it? Do you have other sites?

I have been blogging about my life since 2000, but I started MomMostTraveled.com about two years ago because I always was met with expressions of surprise and lots of questions whenever I talked about traveling overseas with my kids.

I blog about our travels, and I also really enjoy doing product reviews and giveaways. I love to win stuff so it excites me to give away prizes to others!
I don't have any other sites right now.

When buying toys for your kid(s), what is the most important thing that you look for?

I'm personally drawn to more classic types of toys made from high quality natural materials. I look for things that can be played with in a multitude of ways, something that will spark the imagination or teach them something as they have fun!

Kids and Electronics. In you opinion, when is a good time to introduce kids to computers? How do you keep your kids away from the dangers of the internet?

My kids don't really know a lot about the internet. I introduced my son to the prereading activities on Starfall.com when he was 3. It really helped with his phonemic awareness. Now he likes to play games on LegoClub.com. These sites are made to be used by preschoolers. Because he is so young he needs lots of help navigating the pages, but I would say that me staying close by at all times is also a good way to protect him from internet dangers!
Once he is reading more fluently we will look into protection software.

What products on our site would you recommend to other mothers with kids similar in age to yours and why?

I think every preschooler needs some dress-ups! Besides the fun of pretending to be a "fireman" or whatever he or she enjoys, they can learn practical skills of dressing themselves. Or how to hang a shirt on a hanger when they are finished playing.
I also recommend a high quality set of wooden building blocks. We made the mistake of buying a cheap set and the pieces were too small to be very exciting to play with. I wish we had bought the good set from the get go! The blocks can be used to teach children how to group like things with like. And it is just fun to build!

I'm a big fan of musical instruments of all kinds. Neither of my parents play an instrument but in surrounding both my brother and myself with toy instruments, my brother's musical talent was discovered. Now he plays drums professionally.

Also we have a Learning Tower and we love ours! Especially my youngest son Deeds. He likes to eat all of his meals standing in it now. Perfect for an active toddler or preschooler who wants to be a part of the action in the kitchen!
